The buyer, an online poker and gaming marketing company, paid a shocking 1 million dollars for the exclusives right of the desired domain, making “Poker. Org” the most expensive “.org” domain ever. However, a representative of the organization declared that the domain was a great asset for them and they were confident that the investment will pay off in the future.

This strategy of buying non “.com” domains responds to the current trend that points at bogs and web sites with non.com address to be more respectful and trustworthy.
